Self Defense Seminar COMMUNITY SELF-DEFENSE PROGRAM
Prior to becoming a police officer, Lieutenant Gilmurray was held at gun point in a mall parking lot during the holiday shopping season. This unfortunate event changed the course of her life and she has spent the greater part of her career sharing this experience to all ages and disciplines. This program is designed to give participants a basic knowledge of some self-defense techniques. Topics of discussion will include situational awareness, threat assessment and visualization skills. Students will learn how to not become a victim by analyzing body language and their own intuition. This is an interactive course and there will be hands-on demonstrations of techniques that the students will practice. Various scenarios will be discussed to give participants an understanding of their personal weapons and how to get away from an attacker.
